PAEDIATRIC CARE TOKYO EXPERIENCED THERAPIST FOR CHILDREN

We are excited to have a highly experienced physiotherapist, Georgia Ireland working with us in our Tokyo clinic.

We can assist children from 0 to 18 years old achieve developmental milestones and improve their physical abilities. 

Paediatric sessions can be done via home visits, daycare or school visits (with the school’s permission) or on-site at Tokyo Physio.

Our Physiotherapist - Georgia Ireland

Georgia is an Australian-accredited physiotherapist, who has background in both acute care from Westmead Children’s Hospital and community care through the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. She offers tailored treatments for a range of conditions.

Raising a child in a country where English isn’t the dominant language can be challenging. She can assist you by providing education on your child’s gross motor developmental milestones, offering guidance on setting up your home to encourage learning and equipping both parents and children with the tools they need to achieve their goals.

What Conditions and Injuries can Physiotherapy treat?

Developmental Concerns:

    • Delayed milestones (e.g., tummy time, sitting, crawling, walking)
    • Advice on paediatric equipment and toys to promote gross motor skills
    • Plagiocephaly (flat head) and torticollis (neck imbalance)

Additional Conditions:

    • Autism, DCD, cerebral palsy, and other genetic conditions
    • Return to sport or sport-related goals
    • Post orthopaedic rehabilitation and other musculoskeletal management

Frequently Asked Questions

Sustaining an injury on a ski holiday can be a traumatic experience for a child and can cause a negative association with the sport. Children can lose confidence in their ability and are often not experienced in being injured and can become apprehensive. Older children  

Our therapists understand this and can make children feel at ease and reduce their pain.  

Children as young as 6 can sustain ligament tears in their knees and we have a range of children-sized braces to protect the joint and encourage healing. A torn MCL is very common and generally responds well to the correct treatment.
