Injuries we treat

ACL Experts
At Tokyo Physio we believe we are the best place to see ACL injuries in Tokyo. Our therapists all undergo special training in the latest management techniques for ACL rehabilitation and management.

Ankle
The ankle is a complex joint that can sustain a wide range of injuries, usually involving some traumatic injury or tendon pain from modifying training loads too quickly.

Calf Muscle
Calf muscle pain, strains and tears are very common in athletes, especially middle aged male runners. In the triathlon and running communities these are often referred to colloquially as ‘mad calf disease’, and it is always surprising how many people suffer from it.

Elbow– Tennis Elbow, Golfer’s Elbow and Post-Trauma Rehab
The elbow is a relatively simple yet resilient hinge joint, however when it does get injured, it is invariably stubborn and slow to heal.Tennis elbow and Golfer’s elbow are common injuries that we have extensive experience in treating.

Feet
As we have a strong background in running injuries and triathlon we have an excellent understanding of the foot and biomechanics. We treat injuries and pain in the foot regularly and achieve good results.

Hands & Wrists
Problems in the hand and wrist are often related to performing sustained or repetitive tasks or a traumatic incident such as falling on an outstretched hand.

Headaches and Migraines
Our unique method of examining the small movements of the top three spinal segments (joints) will prove to us and to you if your neck is contributing to your headaches or a migraine.

Hip/Groin Injuries
The hip and groin is a complex area that requires a thorough history and careful consideration before selecting a treatment plan.

Hip/Hamstring
Hamstring tears are often more complicated than they appear and need to be assessed carefully to select the best management.

Knee Meniscus Tears
The meniscus is the padding in between the two long bones of the lower leg, the femur (thigh bone) and tibia (shinbone).

Knees
As we have been providing care for skiers and snowboarders in ski resorts for over 12 years, we know knees.

Knee – Medial Co-lateral Ligament (MCL) Tears
The MCL is the main ligament supporting the inside of the knee. It is a long wide ligament starting from above the knee and continuing to 10cm below the knee joint line.

Lower Backpain/ Lumbar Spine Pain
Lower back pain remains an enigma in the medical community. Poorly understood and generally still poorly managed hard answers are difficult to come by.

Neck Pain
The neck is an area where dysfunction and pain is common and increasing. Long periods using computers and electronic devices put extra pain on the neck.

Paediatric Care
Although we do not specialise in paediatrics our therapists are able to see children. In our skin clinics, we see many children with orthopaedic conditions such as knee, wrist and foot injures.

Post Operative Rehabilitation
Orthopaedic operations almost always require carefully structured physio to achieve full recovery. In many cases the post-operative care and effort is more important than the surgery itself.

Running Injuries
Our clinics tend to attract physios with an interest in endurance sports so you can ensure your physio will be experienced and well trained in all running injuries too.

Shoulder – Rotator Cuff Tear
The rotator cuff is a group of four small muscles that work as a team to hold the top of the arm in the socket.

Shoulder Impingement
A shoulder impingement is a painful condition occurring predominantly in over 35 year old.

Shoulder Labrum Tears
The labrum is a soft fibrous tissue rim that surrounds the socket to help stabilize the joint and keep the ball centred in the socket.

Thoracic Spine / Mid Back Pain
The thoracic area is the vertebrae that have ribs attached to them. Because of the extra support the ribs supply the spine, the mid back is a strong robust area, which usually responds very well the treatment and resolves quickly.
